Don't f**king tell me what to wear or how to run my business - a brand new podcast coming soon!

Meet Wendy Gannon, aka 'wo0'— professional photographer and fierce advocate for women’s empowerment. This bold first series, "Don't F**king Tell Me What to Wear or How to Run My Business," was born out of Wendy's viral LinkedIn post calling out sexist comments about how women in business should dress. What started as a powerful response to patriarchy has evolved into a movement featuring a studio shoot celebrating women and what they wear to work, a coffee table book, a 2025 photography exhibition, and now this unapologetic podcast.

In this intro episode, Wendy explains how the project came to life and gives you a flavour of what listeners can expect: raw, unfiltered conversations with women who have overcome abuse, misogyny, and sh**ty patriarchal expectations, to live life and run their businesses on their own terms. Expect bold stories, humour (and plenty of swearing) as Wendy raises the voices of women who refuse to be silenced.

>> Wo0: Hi.

Speaker:

Hi. I'm

Speaker:

Wendy. Welcome to my podcast, which

Speaker:

is not just another podcast. Pretty much

Speaker:

like, my work is not just being another

Speaker:

photographer. this is something much, much

Speaker:

bigger.

Speaker:

My first series of the woo pod. It's

Speaker:

called don't f**king tell me what to wear or how to run my

Speaker:

business. It's part of a project

Speaker:

which started life as a LinkedIn post.

Speaker:

Basically, there was a guy on

Speaker:

LinkedIn with thousands of followers that thought it

Speaker:

was appropriate to say that women in

Speaker:

business can only be successful if they

Speaker:

are wearing tops up to their neck

Speaker:

suits, looking classy, not

Speaker:

getting any skin out. What a

Speaker:

pr*ck. So it's

Speaker:

gonna be fine, right?

Speaker:

Initially, I was just gonna meet a few people.

Speaker:

Then I had a studio shoot in London. Then I opened

Speaker:

a studio shoot in Manchester. Then we're gonna put

Speaker:

it in a book, a, coffee table book,

Speaker:

which has been on my bucket list

Speaker:

for 20 years. And I never thought it would happen.

Speaker:

But, hey, thanks to men,

Speaker:

thanks to d*ckheads, then we're having

Speaker:

an exhibition. So I don't even want to mention this guy's

Speaker:

name because, a, I can't remember it,

Speaker:

and b, I don't want him getting any,

Speaker:

like, comeback off it or any

Speaker:

attention. Basically, he doesn't need that.

Speaker:

So what can you expect from the wo0 pod and from

Speaker:

me? Well, it's called, as I

Speaker:

said, the don't f**king tell me what to wear or how to run my business

Speaker:

podcast, because it's a

Speaker:

celebration of women taking a stand against the

Speaker:

patriarchy in a world of work and beyond.

Speaker:

We're raising the voices of women running their businesses and living

Speaker:

their lives on their own terms and wearing whatever

Speaker:

the f*ck they want while they do it.

Speaker:

Expect bold, unapologetic, f*ck

Speaker:

the patriarchy vibes. Although I would like to

Speaker:

add here, that I f**king love men. I love

Speaker:

men. We love men. We just don't like

Speaker:

d*ckheads, okay? Like, the support that we've got

Speaker:

from men is wonderful. I appreciate you. I

Speaker:

love you. You're sexy. But

Speaker:

we're

Speaker:

alongside some very important conversations and stories that

Speaker:

need to be told. We don't talk about it enough. There's

Speaker:

lots of sh*t We go through lots of sh*t

Speaker:

So you're gonna f**king listen to it whether you like it

Speaker:

or not. And what about me?

Speaker:

Well, I'm Wendy Gannon, but most people call me

Speaker:

woo. I'm a professional photographer with

Speaker:

nearly 20 years of experience. My whole

Speaker:

bag is empowering women, giving them confidence

Speaker:

and making them feel amazing in a world that seems

Speaker:

determined to do the opposite.

Speaker:

So I am your host, I'm bringing you the

Speaker:

conversations with women who've overcome toxic

Speaker:

patriarchal bullsh*t to get

Speaker:

to where they are today. I'm loud. I've

Speaker:

got ADHd. My brain has no filter

Speaker:

and I am a hero.

Speaker:

Many of the guests that we're going to be speaking to

Speaker:

have survived male to female abuse, even in their

Speaker:

personal relationships, their careers, their

Speaker:

workplaces. Be family, boyfriend,

Speaker:

anything. This is a story that's close to my

Speaker:

own heart, too. You'll get to know me very well in this

Speaker:

podcast. As I said before, I have no philtre.

Speaker:

I'm an oversharer. sorry, not sorry.

Speaker:

I hope you'll join me by hitting subscribe or follow on this

Speaker:

podcast, like, immediately. I'm just going to give you a couple of seconds to do

Speaker:

that

Speaker:

one. Okay, thank you very much. So that

Speaker:

when we publish the very first episodes, you can

Speaker:

pounce on them immediately. They're not gonna be sh*t

Speaker:

They're gonna be amazing. They're gonna make you laugh.

Speaker:

They might make you cry, but ultimately, they're gonna empower

Speaker:

the f*ck out of you. sorry, I just

Speaker:

went down there.

Speaker:

You can pounce on them immediately. Help us spread the word

Speaker:

and keep growing this community of women. But also, what

Speaker:

I wanna do is show women and girls what

Speaker:

abuse is. That any level of abuse is not

Speaker:

okay, that they can get out of it

Speaker:

and be successful and happy afterwards.

Speaker:

This project is super personal to me. I've been

Speaker:

there. I know what it's like to suffer abuse from men.

Speaker:

I've had domestic sexual

Speaker:

violence, mental. It's never

Speaker:

ending, really. I've had general misogyny. And this

Speaker:

has happened in my private life, in my workplace,

Speaker:

in the street. And by speaking openly about my

Speaker:

experiences. I've met so many f**king

Speaker:

incredible women who face similar challenges.

Speaker:

I haven't met a woman yet that hasn't. And

Speaker:

they've all come out of the other side stronger,

Speaker:

smarter, more hilarious, because trauma makes us

Speaker:

funny and more determined than ever. And our

Speaker:

stories f**king deserve to be told.

Speaker:

This podcast is about giving a voice to women who have been

Speaker:

silenced, celebrating our resilience, and

Speaker:

creating a, legacy that inspire and empower others

Speaker:

for years to come. So please, get involved, hit,

Speaker:

subscribe on this podcast, and join me and all the

Speaker:

f**king incredible women I've gathered to tell their stories. As we

Speaker:

flip collective fees to the patriarchy.

Speaker:

It's time to tell the world. We won't be f**king

Speaker:

controlled. We will wear what the f*ck we want, we'll say what the

Speaker:

f*ck we want, and we'll run our f**king businesses the way we f**king

Speaker:

want.
